Recently I came across a vintage photo
album with some pictures in it.
Old black and white photos fascinate me.
It is the only way to see back in time.
What people were wearing.
What they were doing.
I decided to take a closer look. Most old photos
are small, and you can't see much detail.
Modern technology allows us to zoom in so close
.... I feel like I am almost there.
What stories could they tell?
My favorite is the photo in the middle with the man and woman holding hands.
I'd love to know more!
But I will be happy with just taking a closer look.
Feel free to leave a "mini story" in the comments section about any of the three photos above!
I'll start the first one!
Linking to Pink Saturday even though they are black and white.
I just know Berta has some pink in that pretty dress she is wearing.
(Read my comment below to hear more about "Berta!")

Okay, here goes! I'll try the first photo of the woman in the white dress:
Berta had been cleaning and cleaning all day long when the thought of doing yet another basket of laundry just made her say "I need a break!" That's when her sweet, sweet hubby said "Honey, get your best dress on and get ready...we're going to go get a really nice meal over at "The Checkered Tavern tonight!" Berta was so thrilled she had to have a picture of it as proof.
The End
Ha - your story is sweet. I was gonna go after the laundry basket one too. She does look a bit dressed up for my story... but here goes anyway ... Betsy had just come in from hanging out the wash when teenage Junior - who was playing w/ his new camera - said 'Mom - let me take your picture'... So Betsy puts down the basket and reluctantly complies. Admittedly - I don't have the best imagination :)
Loved it, Joyce! Made me laugh right out loud! There is just something about that laundry basket!
One of my friends was having trouble posting to my blog so I cut and paste it out of her message to me.... Loved it!
See it below:
Here is my story:
"Stella Mae please come to the dance with me," coaxed Martin as he tenderly took her hand in his own. "Yes!" she answered with a glowing smile. A few years later it was the same words she said to him at the altar in The Lord's House. All their grandchildren adored this photo in rememberance of their great love.
The end
Myrtle May was angry and she didn't want her picture taken, but her Mother insisted. She wanted the picture of Myrtle in the hat she had when she was young and Myrtle had always hated that hat.

Poor Myrtle! LOL... thanks so much for stopping by, Miss Daisy Mau!
Love old photos and even modern photos done in black and white and sepia. Thank you for sharing. HPS Michelle
Happy Pink Saturday, Jillian. And, how fun is this! Thank you for linking and making Pink Saturday special.
The fellow, Chester, on the front steps with the two ladies is wearing a pink sweater vest. He fashions himself as quite a ladies man. The lady over his right shoulder, Sylvia, is his sister, and she lives in this boarding house with the blonde lady, Helen.
Chester, has it bad for Helen, and he is hoping to impress her with his dapper look and his charm. But, don't worry, Helen has his number. It is going to take more than Chester's flirting to win her heart.
Good one, Beverly! Thanks so much for stopping by and for playing along!
Jillian
