Today I am thankful for
a loving and beautiful family.

Also thanking the Lord for
showing me more about
Him on my journey this year.

My hubby who got up first
to start the turkey!

My Mother who is with
us today and for God who
helped her overcome
some health issues this year.

For customers who

Vintage Things Make Great Gifts! Check Out My Just Listed Finds

Some people are harder
to buy for than others.

Sometimes the answer
lies in finding
what makes their
heart go pitter patter.

I for one, love vintage postcards.
The kitty cats are purrrrrfect!
No one has ever bought
some for me as a gift.
I wish they had!
 What a neat stocking stuffer!

 A beautiful Paragon teacup
and saucer for the tea
partier! I know of
a couple of them already!

Aurora Borealis

Beautifully "flowing" cobalt trimmed
cup and saucer. Nice early set!

A collection of Thomas Pacconi glass
Christmas ornaments in the
Nutcracker theme.

Have a little ballerina in your life?
This will steal her heart!

There are six all together

This set of four
vintage "Violets" themed
postcards are two RAPHAEL
TUCK'S cards. In great condition,
great for the collector!

A beautiful, holiday inspired
brooch made in
Czechoslovakia.
I'm sure it was made
using the lovely
crystals from the
Czech region.

There were several more things I listed
but they sold before I could post this.

Check them out with the
rest of my listings, here.

Enjoy your Friday!

Vintage Christmas: When to Start Decorating?

I know.
Not even Thanksgiving yet.

And I'm thinking about
vntage Christmas stuff.

Who couldblame me?

Thanksgiving colors are
brown, orange, and dull!

While I'm thinking
sugar plums and
eye candy!

I usually drag out the
decorations from the attic
a week after Thanksgiving.

This year I may have
to break my rule.
Too many ideas
on Pinterest.

(That's where I found
these great displays!)

How about you?
When do you start
decorating?

Building Memories

This week I decided to do something
special with my sweet girl.

We went to Build A Bear Workshop.

What color bear did she pick out?
A PINK one!

First up, putting the squishy
and soft insides in.
Bebe helped by pressing the
foot pedal.

Then, a soft satin heart
kissed with lots of love,
to place inside!

Then it was time to give
her new bear a bath.
So cute!

 An outfit was chosen.
Frilly and pink,
what else?

What a happy little girl
Bebe was!
So excited to bring her new bear home.

She was given a birth certificate
with her new name:

"Pretty Pink Bear"

My little one is quite literal, I see!

Calls things as she sees 'em!

A great afternoon
and a new lovable, huggable,
snuggly friend.

In PINK.

Of course I'm sharing her
with Pink Saturday this week!

A big, huge, Teddy Bear
hug for Beverly...
Thank you for
featuring my blog today!

Enjoy the day...

The Calm After the Storm: Ways to Help with Hurricane Sandy

We made it through the storm!

A little scary at times, but we
came through without much
damage and no power loss.

Thanking God for our
many blessings today!

Which makes me wonder
how I can help out.

Here's a couple of ways
I've found to help those
impacted besides the
American Red Cross:

Thank you for your
kind words and prayers
for our family and friends.

It means more than words
can say!

Battening Down the Hatches

Sandy is here.
I've been cooped up
with a four year old
for a few days.

And the worst is yet to come!

Here are some photos from the
beloved Southern New Jersey Shore:

This is the water from the storm surge
 inbetween two
casino's in Atlantic City.

And Lady Liberty is probably getting a
pretty good lashing...

And my favorite:
Ocean City New Jersey.
This is along the bay.

While we are a few hours away,
I am concerned about
my Mom who lives not
too far from these photos.

Keep us in your prayers!
If we lose power and
internet I will try to ship
orders and communicate
as best as I can.

Keeping my cell phone charged.

For now, we are going to
stay in, play games,
take naps, and make
yummy treats.

Hopefully I 'll be back soon
with an update on the storm.

Stay safe, all of my
East Coast pals!

Anyone Remember This?

Today we're playing
a little remember this game.

A vintage, late 1960's Suzy Homemaker Oven.
Found in my favorite thrift shop
by our lake house.

Covered in layers of dirt and no longer electrified,
the staff said: "The dirt is free!"

Then let me have it for a dollar.

I've cleaned it up and my
handy dear hubby has it
in working order now.

Since I was born in the late sixties I
DO NOT remember these.
My era is of the "Easy Bake Oven"
which came a little later?

I looked some up on eBay and they show
a different model with colored knobs.
So far I haven't seen one with the black,
except for the one I have here.

 On the back it reads
that it was made in the USA
(New Jersey) and it is 120 volts!

I'd love to hear from anyone
who remembers these
types of toys ...
feel free to drop me a line and say
"I REMEMBER THIS!"

Playing Photographer

With the leaves in their peak this past week
we decided to head to the park and
take some family photos.

We did things like throwing leaves at Daddy
 which can be such fun!

But then all the time taking pictures took its toll.
Bebe could NOT wait
to get to the playground

All of this picture taking
stuff was boring.

And finally, a happy girl!

Mommy was happy too,
with our family photos...
Although we need a bit
of practice using the
camera's timer!

We don't mind.
After all, it was free!
