Better late than never.... JUST LISTED! French Paperie, Vintage Jewelry, PINK Venetian Glass, PINK Demitasse China

Today I'm playing catch up. We've been busy with family events, church groups, and oh yes, my first applesauce making experience. (Pictures to be posted soon.)

But today I'm late with my JUST LISTED items, my apologies to my shop followers. I normally post as soon as I'm done listing. This week has gotten away from me. Something about fall packs our busy schedule even more than normal.

Without further ado and also for PINK SATURDAY, here are my latest finds:

Victorian pink shabby roses mug or cup.

French literature paperie. You get 40 pages, front and back, of French literature.
I have heard from crafters who look for French text for their projects so here is something to help out with backgrounds.

Then I saw this at the Fleamarket and couldn't resist. An old French newspaper from the war era. Four whole full length sheets (2 connected, front and back.) There are also some really neat French ads as well.

Sweet cream/milk/syrup pitcher with roses. Nice old piece with a lot of character.

Prints from the French Literature book in color as well as a couple black and whites. Lots of different themes to choose from. Frame some or use in craft projects.

Loved this pink shabby pin cushion. I added the three metal thimbles as a bonus.

Gorgeous hand painted demitasse china cup and saucer. The gold is a great combination with these two colors of pink.

Since I've been to Venice I can't pass up any handblown glass items. These two little bud vases are darling. Pontil marks on the bottom show how it is actaully handblown.

Starting with Christmas already. What am I saying? I love to have Christmas items in the shop all year round. This one has pink! Love iiiiiiitttttt!

Le Tragedie

Not everything is always springtime and roses in my antique world.

Today I was trying to take photographs of my latest finds... and well, "tragedy" struck.

See the pretty little teacup and saucer on the right?

Smashed. Into many little pieces.

The camera fell on it!

My lesson for today? Take my time.



Although I have a very busy schedule already for each night this week, I am going to list my latest finds, hopefully tomorrow while Dear Bebe naps. I went to the fleamarket this morning, albeit brief. Most of the vendors had stayed home. Maybe it was because it had rained early this morning and things were wet. I went in hopes of finding some cool vintage stuff before it gets too cold for fleamarketing.

Tonight I am heading out to learn how to make applesauce and can it. My mothers of pre-schoolers group (M.O.P.S) is getting together and this is what the rest of the group wanted to do.

I grew up in the burbs and I've never canned anything in my life. Wish me luck!

Hopefully I won't drop anything. It has been one of those days!

Second Chance Tuesday #3

Each week I'm highlighting things that deserve a second chance. I'm choosing to show items from my Bella Rosa store that are just too pretty to be hidden in the back pages of the website.

A very old, turn of the century shell purse. Very small!

Could have been for a child or a ladies coin purse.

So neat.

This was one of my favorite finds. An old 1920's or 30's Jack Rose perfume and bath salts set.
Still in the original rose paper covered box! Pink bath crystals... original!

JUST LISTED! Bavarian Roses China, Child's Toy Clothesline, Daisy Dresser Tray, Vintage Christmas Postcards

Hot off the press! Okay, hot off the computer keyboard.... here are my JUST LISTED items!

Not an antique but from the late '80's... the encyclopedia of French Cooking! Ooh la la....

A sweet flue cover....love it but my guess is it is just a vintage style and not a hundred years old.

Great look though!

This is soooooo neat. A vintage rose Christmas lightbulb.... marked Austria. I need to do some more research on this piece but for now it is available for sale without much more info on it.

This is a sweet head vase of a little girl. She has that chippy shabby look without having any chips. The paint is wearing on her face however. The back has two holes for flowers or possibly ivy, where her pigtails would be. Unique and different, which is why I liked it.

A daisy dresser tray...also unique. Usually you see these in white with some light pink roses.

This one has a POP of color!

This gorgeous, very colorful rose plate is handpainted, signed by the artist, and marked Bavaria.

Vintage German enamelware salt bucket or match holder. Kind of large for a match holder though! Marked GERMANY on the lower back.

I'm paying closer attention to vintage Christmas postcards. I love the ones with the children.
So sweet! I am wondering if one of them is by the artist, Frances Brundage.

Good 'ol fashioned chem or lab bottles. These are just waiting for that crafter who can turn

them into something even more fabulous!

Couldn't resist the antique clothesline set. I showed it to my Mother in Law and she thinks

it was from the late 1930's. (She was here for the wedding otherwise I normally do not get to show her my latest finds and talk about them, except by phone!)

Second Chance Tuesday #2

Welcome to Second Chance Tuesday where we highlight things deserving of a second look. Could be a post you really liked, a wedding or a prom dress you'd like to wear again, or in my case, items from my shop that are too pretty to be hidden among the website. and shown here on the blog just once.


This week I'm pulling out items that are made of paper:

This is a neat book. Looks kind of ordinary so what makes it so special? It was handmade and given to someone's mother as a gift to write her favorite recipes in. How cool is that? All blank inside.

Gorgeous paper fan from Japan. The pink makes it fabulous!

Vintage payroll checks from a local Lancaster County, PA bank. I can see some great craft projects using these!

Vintage red streamers.

These need to be used in someone's Christmas projects and fast!

The item being featured here is the French style powder box. I really don't think the photo I use on the site shows it off to it's full beauty. It is really a neat piece.

Cinderella and Her Prince Charming

Is it possible? I mean, for there to be a real life Cinderella and her prince?

I always thought those stories were so far from reality.


But if there ever was a real life Cinderella, I think I saw her in person this weekend.

This is my Dear Step-Daughter (#1). She was married this weekend!

Here she is walking in the city after the ceremony with her new husband, I mean, Prince Charming.

I've never cried so much in my life at a wedding. There was a lotta love in the room!

Their ceremony was focused on the real meaning behind marriage, centered on God's purpose for them. I was quite impressed for such a young couple to be headed in the right direction.

It was a beautiful day, a beautiful wedding, and I'm so happy for them.

Congratulations to you both!

Welcome Pinkies! Thinking Pink in Paris

Hello to all of my Pink Saturday bloggers... welcome to my little part of cyberworld where I love to write about my latest antique finds, family, and adventures in antiquing.

Dear Hubs and I have the antique bug in common, so it helps to both be on the same page. We both think looking for fun antiques is entertaining! Good thing because we do it a lot. We EVEN went scouting for vintage stuff on our honeymoon in Paris, France. That's me in the above photo. Note I am wearing a pink scarf.

Of course it was my favorite place to look! Who wouldn't in Paris, France? Let's overlook the fact we got lost on the Metro, got off at the wrong stop, and walked FOREVER. The point is we finally made it to the Marche au Puces. (Market of Fleas)


Ever find something and pass it up because you thought it was too expensive? Then later kick yourself for not buying it? Well, this particular day I found a tiny pair of pink satin ballet slippers, the smallest I had ever seen, even for a child. And I passed them up. What was I thinking? Yep, I still think about those pink slippers.

We found neat stuff but not everything was affordable to us. A vintage porcelain canister set with pink florals caught my eye, French books, and some barber items made it to the suitcases. I have sold almost everything I purchased that day minus a book and the Quimper pieces I bought for my Mother.

Now here are a few highlights from the trip. One thing I need to mention: I am not "allowed" to show my Dear Hubs in photos on my blog. This is why most of the photos include me!

Here I am having my portrait drawn in Montmartre, the famous area near the Sacre Couer where the artists hang out and scoop up cash, I mean, sketch your picture. Let's just say it looked nothing like me.

Here I am floating down the river seine on a dinner cruise boat...what a fabulous night it was! And I wore a pink dress people! Pink dress! Come on, that's dedication. I didn't even KNOW about Pink Saturday at the time.

And here I am with Monet's famous "Les Coquelicots" painting in the Musee D'Orsay museum... I have a special place in my heart for it. My Italian great Grandmother gave me a satin wallet with this picture on the front. I cherished it and still have it today! I don't know why, but I teared up when I saw it in person. Kind of like "Someone pinch me because I am standing in front of the REAL thing!"

It was a special moment.
