Latest Vintage Finds: Vintage Florentine Wall Decor, Milestone Scrapbook, and an Art Deco Print

This Florentine style picture trio caught my eye at our local thrift. Need to clean 'em up a bit and then they'll be ready
for the shop... marked "Made in Italy" on the back.
Happy they were all still together, sometimes these
things get separated.

There was also something about this
framed print that I liked.

I thought this vintage scrapbook would make a great display, filled with pictures at a milestone birthday party. I could have really used it for the 75th birthday bash I put together for my Mother! You can read about it here. Maybe someone else can put it to good use. It is still unused with the paper label inside.

Believe it or not, I used to enjoy reading my Mother's Reader's Digest "magazines" when I was young. My favorite section was "Laughter the Best Medicine." While these late 1950's / early 1960's issues may not bring in too much money themselves, I think I might frame the vintage advertisements found inside.

I found several that I liked but got sentimental over this one... remembering when soda came in glass bottles. Whose with me on this one?

Sounds like a possible subject for a
"Let's Talk Vintage" post, eh?

But my favorite find of the day just
 might be this framed print.

Enjoy your weekend! I'm diving into unchartered territory this weekend... you all have inspired me and I'm finally trying out chalk paint on a few tables and smaller items!
I of course, will show you pictures.

Plus, (Teaser alert!) I may have some exciting news next week...

Stay tuned!

Your pictures remind me of the late 80's-early 90's. I am thinking of the word "florentine" as I recall. Lovely finds!

Hi Jillian, love your finds this week. I believe the painting is a student copy of a Marie Cassat. I'm too lazy to go look, if not then a Degas.

Often in HS...and 101 art in college most Liberal Arts majors have to do an assignment to copy---a 'Masters'. There is a bar in Chicago in one of the schmantzy hotels...that is covered floor to ceiling in student Masters from the Art Institute. Fun display! Thanks for the jog in my mind for all those Art History classes I had to take. Sandi

All your framed pictures are gorgeous! I especially love the frames. My son and I went to the local art gallery and all I could do was to drool over the ornate gold frames.I couldn't care less about the art! That scrapbook is divine too! I do remember the Reader's Digest.

Hello sweet Jillian!! LOVE your finds this week. That scrapbook is the best right? I get sentimental too remembering those special things from our childhoods. The little trio of pictures are really pretty too.
Happy Pink Saturday!

I love all your finds, especially the last one. I have been planning on using chalk paint also but still putting it off. Running out of room for new things.

I love finding old magazines when I'm out thrifting. It's so much fun to see what was going on in the past.

Great job finding your treasures. I especially like the framed painting of mother and child -- very Impressionistic, and the last one of the woman. I saw your link at Diana's Adirondack Girl @ Heart/Vintage Charm party. Ann Marie @ Iris Abbey www.irisabbey.com

Beautiful vintage finds. I too enjoyed reading Reader's Digest as a kid. Framing some of those vintage ads is a great idea. Thank you for joining Vintage Charm!
