A Very Basic Day = Blessed

(Photo I took of a sweet little church in Springfield, Maine.
I call it "Weathering the Storms.")

An earthquake, a Tsunami, near nuclear meltdown, revolutions and wars.

It is overwhelming when you think about it.

Recently a friend emailed me and asked "How was your Sunday?"

I replied:

"Good. We had church, lunch, naps, dinner, playtime, laundry...TV.
A pretty basic day but compared to the rest of the world...blessed!"

I'm counting my blessings today. Won't you?

Also, prayers for the people of Japan. May God comfort them as they grieve
and those that need food and water supplies will have them soon.

I love the church door. You hit it exactly right, so many of us are living "ordinary" days but compared to the rest of the world, we are so blessed. My son worked in Southern Japan for 18 months a few years ago. He told about the graciousness of a McDonald's in Japan, compared to one in the USA. That has been what I think of, the gracious people enduring this devastion and loss. Thank you for this excellent post.

I know that picture! Yes - blessed indeed. Normal is about as good as it gets.

there's so much to be gratful for....watching the news....listening to those who have lost so much....it hurts to hear their pain....and reminds me to say thank you no matter what. thanks for this.

Joining with you in counting blessings and praying for the people of Japan. May many be saved and their lives restored to some semblance of normal soon!

I have been looking at images of people standing in line for hours only to find empty shelves where food used to be.

We are blessed indeed and given that we have so much it is good to share.
