A Hot Day for Antiques

Over the weekend Hubby and I
decided to spend the afternoon
in a small town nearby with
a collection of little shops.

There just so happened to be an
antique barn along with them!

So, in we went.

It was a hot day and this
old industrial GE fan
looked appealing ...

As well as this wooden soda crate
full of 7up bottles

I was eyeing this Coca Cola sign
"Sold Here Ice Cold"
Wouldn't this be a gem for
the lake house?

It was a little out of my price range.

So was this cute, tin sand bucket...
$64.00 was on the tag
 And speaking of prices...
I got a huge kick out of this booth...

The sign reads
"All Items Marked 10.00 each"

Kind of like at the dollar store.
Except everything was 10.00.

Makes it easy to do
the accounting, I suppose!

Also easy to figure out a sale.
50% off = .....
well, you get the picture!

Over in another booth...
This gorgeous old celluloid album
was a beautiful piece to have on
display...I didn't even look at the tag

I also liked this sign...
advertising an antique flea market
Obviously it is now a thing of the past
But would look great on a future wall in our lake house!

Hope you enjoyed our
afternoon antiquing.

What did you do this past weekend?
I'd love to hear from you!

I stayed home while the hubby went to 'Back to the 50's' car show, too crowded for me plus I got a lot accomplished at home 'alone'! I scored on a GE fan like that with brass blades last year, I love that thing! I wonder how much they were asking for that album?

It's hard to believe our 29 cents sand pails are so durn pricey nowadays! Looks like you had fun.

TY for joining our cause for Zoe, I deeply appreciated this.

Wow - that fan! I was just watching an episode of Andy Griffith and he has one of those on top of the file cabinet at the courthouse and I was thinking how those things are real deals in the antique world these days! Interesting stuff in this place but - seems way overpriced. At least not friends with MY purse.

Joy!

I love that old bucket. I thought of collecting them. Then I saw how expensive they are. I decided against THAT collection :) I spent Sat. at a local festival with girl friends -- it was a hot day but so fun!
