Lace, Mother Goose and TV - What Do They Have in Common?

What could some pretty white lace on an antique spool have to do with


A Mother Goose book from the early 1900's




(Some great illustrations inside as well)


OR how about an ONEIDA long handled infant feeding spoon?


It certainly could have nothing to do with this cute, vintage TV that doubles as a salt and pepper set!

Gone Wild!

Yesterday Dear Hubby had a vacation day so we took Bebe to a Wildlife Safari park.


(Lake Tobias, Pennsylvania)



Which way should we go first?


I liked the zebras... they are so amazing to see in person!
Gorgeous. Strut like an emu...WAIT! I think I'm in Australia ...


But then I snapped some prairie dog luurrrrve.

Not your regular deer. These are European fallow deer.


Lucky me, this was my first snapshot of the day!



What is this? A lady elk decided to get on the bus! Turns out our tour guide feeds these big creatures each time she drives a group through. They're not stupid.

Daddy Elk. Wow.

Ok. This watusi thing was a little intimidating.


Nice hair! Did someone give this guy highlights?




Whoa!





Sweet little baby baboon.




She said one ostrich or emu egg equaled a dozen chicken eggs.




A log. A simple "toy" for a lady lion.



This is one of the tour buses we rode.



Bebe had a blast....and Mommy loved taking the pictures.


Daddy enjoyed it all!


Summer so far- GREAT!

On A Pink Bicycle Built For ...ME & Grauman's Chinese Theater Vintage Souvenir

This week before I go into my exciting find...I mean my hubby's exciting find...I want to show you what I found this week that I am excited about: (Just Listed Here)

A very old copy of Alice's Adventure's in Wonderland. Copyright 1897! Four awesome color plates and several other awesome (John Tenniel) illustrations.








This is a gorgeous pair of pink gloves... with sweet ruching above the wrist for that extra feminine touch.







A so sweet and romantic pink rose postcard from the early 1900's.... with a greeting in German.

Then...are you ready? Are you ready???













This was a neat find, in my opinion... maybe because I've never been to Hollywood.









An old souvenir from the WORLD FAMOUS Grauman's Chinese Theater, Hollywood, California!



The one with all of the celebrities and such from years gone by...








How cool is that?????









I am also going to confess here that I thought it was so cool, I decided to see how it would do on ebay... here. We'll see. Not too many viewers as of yet but it still has a couple more days to go.

THEN my hubby's find:





Last summer I spotted this pretty bike propped up against the railing on a NJ boardwalk. A little bit of rust, yes, but at the beach near the salt water...very common.

I snapped the photo to show for Pink Saturday.

This summer, my hubby found one just like it on Craigslist...INSISTED I had to have it. When he brought it home I was stunned to see that it was in like new condition!

A big shout out to the hubs! Thanks honey. What fun to ride on the boards with my OWN sweet ride!

A Hunting We Will Go...A Hunting We Will Go...

Today I made a quick trip over to a local antique mall looking for a few "new" pieces to add to my inventory.

I told myself it would just be a short visit... just to look for some Paris postcards and maybe some jewelry.





I found the French postcards...



And some rose postcards...



Even though I had said my visit would be SHORT...I still hoped to find some vintage Christmas ornaments. I did not. (All of these pictures I am showing are of old inventory because I haven't had a chance to take photos yet. )




And I found some other unique items I'm excited about like a few books on French impressionists and a Fairy Tales book as well as an Alice in Wonderland!




Not sure when I will be listing... I have a busy schedule the next two days (getting my hair cut, pool playdate, doctor appointments, etc) but I have always liked a challenge.

Sweet Land of Liberty

A very Happy Independence Day to you!
Let's celebrate our freedom... as noted in the Declaration of Independence
