This week I am sharing some of my
finds that are a bit on the
shabby side. Well worn,
not fancy, or fragile.
Sometimes I refer to them
as my "grittier" finds.
This picnic basket was found at the same rummage sale I've been mentioning in my posts. You can read about my first experience there here. It was a crazy one!
Anyway, I was about to pull it out from under a table when an older lady got to it first. I held my breath as she looked it over and then decided against it. As soon as she placed it back under the table, I scooped it up. It had a long leather tie keeping it closed but I may try to embellish it. I'm guessing it once had two straps of some sort to keep the lid tied down. What do you think, pretty trims or patriotic for summer?

A box filled with "Bridge Bingo" cards. I had not seen this style before... I like how different they are.
These antique arithmetic books always seem to sell
so I brought another one back for the shop.
And these antique ephemera pieces were found all together at this one particular shop. It was a very small store and I couldn't leave without them. I must have held onto them for what seemed like ages, walking around and around, debating if I really needed all three. I guess I did!

stencil. Love it! And I love it in aqua.

What's that saying about a beer budget?
This is definitely a keeper. Look how
great it looks with her décor!
and speaking of great, I had to
share this picnic basket refurbish,
since I was thinking about
decorating my own! Jo at Annes Attic
made this basket go from bleak
to chic!

I have been around along time, but never saw bridge bingo type cards. I love to play bingo, but they do not use these cards anymore. I may have to join your group as I enjoy antiques and have many.

I like your picnic basket in it's natural color. A red checked liner or just a piece of fabric on the inside, it would be darling. I bought a picnic basket years ago but it was already painted...whatever you do, it will be adorable.
