Thinking Pink #9: From A Rose Needlepoint to a Specially Crafted Tutu

Welcome to Thinking Pink!
This week I am sharing some
of my latest finds... and
a little snippet into a very
famous Christmas ballet that
is keeping us busy every weekend.
Hmmm, what could that be?

Even though we are heading into
Fall, I couldn't resist having June back.
Is this needlepoint a beauty or what?

These little bisque girls each have a
touch of pink. They are too cute.
Wondering if I should sell them
individual or as a group. I have
three more (not in pink) because
I purchased 6 all together.

Ahhh, pink roses. . . cannot resist them in pink.
I found this quote for you today:

“But he who dares not grasp the thorn
Should never crave the rose.”
Anne Bronte

Wow. Powerful!

The pink in this two compartment candy dish
is so sweet. Reminds me of little
girl's ballet shoes.
Hmmmm... another hint!

I just think these arts and crafts pieces are
completely charming.

Perfect for a tea for two..
a scone for me, and one for you!

I purchased these Coalport napkin
rings from a British lady who brought
them over with her from England.
She and her daughter were talking while
I was checking them over. Her daughter
was talking about getting some petrol.
I love the language differences...
reminds me how big the world is.

Big world or not, we would all agree these rings
would make brunch extra special!

Well, I'm sure you've guessed by now
what ballet I am talking about.
This vintage ballerina doll is
wearing a pink and silver tutu
and with a little washing could
bring it to almost good as new.

Maybe even as pretty as this hand crafted piece.
I was waiting for Bebe to finish her dance class
when this sweet gal Polly started working on this
tutu for their upcoming Nutcracker ballet.

She is very talented!

This year Bebe is going to be a
soldier and a "small flower" in
the December performance.

Hope you enjoyed my finds today...

  1. Oh, how sweet your daughter will be in the Nutcracker!! What a holiday memory that is going to make. I'm so happy that I bought & received the pretty pink book of poetry you recently featured -- it is now on display to be enjoyed in my beach house curio cabinet! Have a great weekend! (And if you ever find anything vintage "beachy" that is fabulous, let me know!! ;)

  2. Oh, sweet, I have the ballet doll. She was a Christmas present in 1955-6? I still have her, but her shoes are getting gooey...

  3. Oh, that ballerina doll is exquisite! I truly hope you're not parting with her, she looks like she was made to live with you and your little ballerina! I love the needlepoint piece, so pretty. I'm in the midst of making a cross stitch quilt for a couple having their first baby:) Hopefully they like it and it doesn't end up in some Goodwill somewhere LOL.

Beautiful finds and how exciting that your girlie's going to be in the Nutcracker! I'll have to send you a pic of my little ballet book that I got from my ballet teachers when we left England...I was so ballet obsessed but my mom never signed me back up after we left:(

Thank you for sharing all these treasures Jillian and hope you're having a lovely weekend!

  5. All your pink treasures are fabulous! Those little bisque doll pricked my heart and that divided dish with the roses looks like something my grandmother Ga would have had. Precious!
