While at our favorite thrift shop in the woods,
the hubs spotted this ornate oval frame.
I have an idea for it, which I picked up from
the owner of the antique mall where we
had a booth. She would put padded velvet
inside the frame and then sell brooches from
within. It looked gorgeous!
I spotted this little purse atomizer.
Marked Japan on the bottom.
This vintage ladle also grabbed my attention.
I'm thinking soup but wondering if I could use
it in a small punch bowl. I have a plan for it, too!
This one will remain a mystery to y'all
for awhile. I promise I will be back
to explain later on. I'm such a tease!
This is such a precious little figurine/candle holder.
The marking on the bottom makes
me think it is Lefton... and there is a mark
where there had been a Lefton style sticker.
I know there is a lot on this plate but it is the plate
that I am showing here. (Forgot to take a photo of it!)
It is marked "SOUVENIR T&V France Depose"
I have never seen a plate from France marked SOUVENIR before. Will have to look into this, unless any of you have an idea. It is pretty with light green, darker green, and pink pastels.
It could be from the arts and crafts era... where ladies were painting their own china, kind of like they do now at popular pottery paint shops. (Say that five times fast!)
I will probably place it in my Bella Rosa Shop, both the .com and Etsy.
Here is one of my favorite finds...
which is actually from the
infamous estate sale I wrote
about here, where another woman
spoke very loud verbally bullied me
for being too close to the front of the line.
for being too close to the front of the line.
I've never come across or owned
a Victorian parasol before. This
one may have been for mourning,
or, I am guessing, sun protection.
It really doesn't cover much
space so I'm hoping it wasn't
for rainy days!. The handle
and tips of the spokes are
either celluloid, ivory,or possibly,
like I saw on another listing.
It folds in the middle for easy
portability. It is listed here,
in my Bella Etsy shop.
This is a great, fun piece!
I can see this industrial shipping
container in a craft studio,
or media room for décor
while also functioning as storage.
It is listed here, in my retro shop.
The postmark shows that it
shipped in 1952.

And this funky thing. . . some of you
probably know what it is already!
A vintage, retro Oster
portable hair dryer!
You too can have a
salon in your home.
It is already listed in my
Antique Retroactive shop on Etsy.
Thanks so much for checking out
my latest finds. Bebe is off
from school today and tomorrow but
I'm hoping to squeeze in a "Thinking Pink"
post to share a bunch of my pink, pretty,
and feminine finds.
Until then, enjoy the day!

Oh wow, I had no idea there was even such a thing as a portable home hair dryer! I love the little angel candle holder, so pretty! Great finds and sorry about the rude estate sale lady, not nice!!!
ReplyDeleteLots of cool stuff! The hairdryer does bring back memories!
ReplyDeleteHa, the date on that dryer is 1966...my roommate had one just like it in college...might be a year or two earlier.
ReplyDeleteFun finds and love the parasol. I have a paper one...that is sealed with shellac. Have no idea...but it adorable also. Love your 'finds' posts.
Thanks, Sanid
Love the gold frame and I'm remembering those padded ones from the mall - loved them too! The parasol is amazing... great find!
ReplyDeleteI love your Victorian parasol. Thank you so much for sharing at Vintage Charm!
ReplyDeleteGreat finds, Jill. That parasol is just lovely; I've never owned one either, but I'd like to(!). I also really like that industrial-style container--very cool. Hope you have a great week!
