Vintage Finds of the Week #14: On a Cottage Chic Streak

Right before we headed out on a family weekend
getaway, the Hubs took us over to an estate sale.

I mean, literally, we were all packed and ready,
in the van... and our first stop was this sale.

I'm so glad we did though!

I love all of these vintage medicine
bottles... especially the Vaseline tube.

But what is camphor ice????

Show me a ballet print and I am sold.

And coming right out of the doll hospital post, here, I
couldn't resist some Madame Alexander dolls!
We bought three...Two little women,
and this sweet Alice in Wonderland.

And apparently I can't resist
 vintage Christmas either.
Of any kind!

Isn't the scotty dog candy box adorable?

While I'm not into reading Dick Tracy,
I think the graphic makes a cool
statement.

 And I know a blogger
out there with a vintage
 yellow and green kitchen
that this clock would look
perfect in!

These last two pieces were grabbed to hold the vintage treasures so we could bring them up to the checkout.

I was keeping Bebe busy so I forgot to tell
my Hubby they were just for carrying so...

now they are part of my finds of the week!

There are more but I am saving them for
my "Thinking Pink" post on Friday...because
they are indeed, in the pink!

Stay tuned and thanks so much for stopping
by to see my cottage chic finds. Be sure to leave a comment, I love to hear from you!

  1. These are some wonderful finds. I'd like to have a vintage yellow kitchen myself someday, so I am loving that clock. And who could turn down those adorable Christmas figurines? I really like that camphor ice tube, too. Apparently, it's a skin balm, still available for sale today.

  2. Love the clock, Jill! The vintage medicines are very cool too. Believe it or not, I have so far not succumbed to kitschy ballet prints of old. I've com close, very close. ;)

  3. Fabulous treasures, but I think the yellow clock has to be my favorite. Thanks for sharing your goodies at Vintage Inspiration Party.

  6. Those two lower ballet pix were on my bedroom wall in the 50s. I listened to my little yellow record of Swan Lake over and over while pirouetting around the bedroom.

An aside: When I wanted ballet lessons, my mother, (always the abuser--before people recognized this as a real problem) provided ballroom dancing lessons instead. My younger sister got the ballet classes. But I won in the end, because my French/Italian current sweetheart, taught me to ballroom dance like Ginger Rogers......and my temperament wasn't suited to ballet anyway.......

Thanks for reminding me of my long-gone youth....and how lucky I am now.........

  7. too funny - your oil of citronella bottle is just like my oil of peppermint bottle I listed this week - except mine has a green tin lid I think. Great minds think alike :)

  8. Oh my gosh, that old Vaseline! My grandfather apparently used to eat Vaseline, how gross is that! I have no idea why but I guess he thought it was good for him? Great finds, that little cherry crate is so cute:)

  9. The cherry box is fab!

Vaseline camphor ice is basically chapstick in an oversized tube. You rubbed it over your dry skin and lips.

  10. My husband has been doing that a lot lately too....stopping unexpectedly at sales! I am not complaining! Love your vintage toiletry bottles and things. The yellow clock is fabulous and the crate is a great bonus item.
