And Then I Heard a Crash

Easy come, easy go.

Really?

Unfortunately that is the way I have to
look at it when things break.

The other night Bebe was in my
office with her Daddy looking
for something when I heard a
very loud CRASH and then
little pieces smashing.

Then screaming.

Crazy, loud, screaming.

It was Bebe.

"I BROKE ONE OF YOUR ANTIQUES!"
Over and over again. Screaming the same thing.

"I BROKE ONE OF YOUR ANTIQUES!"

(Also interesting, it was a Mother / Daughter plate!)

Poor thing. I have made her so paranoid
about breaking anything.

I made sure she was okay and told her
it was just a plate.
A plate from Bavaria.
(Ah, Bavaria!)

Nothing to worry about.

Easy come, easy go.

  1. She must have felt just terrible! I remember running into a huge and very old barrel cactus. It fell to the floor and smashed into a few pieces. I felt terrible for years afterwards, every time I thought of it. I hope Bebe gets over this soon - and still, it is hard to see something you like crashed on the floor. :-(

  2. I usually feel worse for the person who broke something than for the loss....I would rather be the one who broke it! I hope Bebe can see that it is more important for her to be okay than material things.

  3. Poor little gal - the accident prone thing again? I'm sure you held her tight and loved her through it - just like God does for us when we break His plates. The home that will never have that plate hanging on the wall will not miss it.
    Joy!
