The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow

In case you haven't noticed, I'm a little behind in my posts.

 This is our picture from Easter Sunday.

Bebe is trying to eat a potato chip.

This is the best we could do before the camera battery died.

Some days are like that.

I'm learning to accept days like this.

And be thankful we managed to get a picture at all!

Today did not start out like I had planned.

My poor kitty was taken to the vet after a serious

injury to her leg. After some discussion and some tears

(mine)

we decided to go for surgery to heal her.

Tomorrow will be better.

For those of you who follow along to see my latest finds

I'm going to try and list new items soon!

Let's hope it is not a "potato chip" kind of day.

Antiques, Museums, & Rosie the Riveter

 A few weeks ago, we took my Father to see an army airfield museum.

He likes that kind of stuff.

And so do I.

Because wherever there is a museum, you will find

ANTIQUES.

So off we went!

Won't you come inside with us?

Look at these sweet young faces.

Brave young men who had a passion for their country and for flying.

Did I mention my Step Son is in the army?

There were also bigger pieces for the museum, outside.

Bebe was having a ball.

Can you tell?

With her pink sunglasses on.

Inside were images, artifacts, even pieces of engines.

All telling the story of airmen and their craft

facing battles overseas, many which seemed overwhelming

and all consuming.

But, that didn't stop them.

I think that is what I like about museums like this.

Men AND women, brave souls facing

incredible challenges head on.

I admire that.

 Looking back now, we can see their tools

were not as "tekkie" as they are today.

What will things be like when Bebe is a twenty something?

Not all of the artifacts were geared toward men.

I really liked this beautiful wedding gown

from the forties.

It was actual wedding attire worn

by a local airman and his bride.

And here was a set up of what the typical
office desk would have had on it.

Wouldn't we LOVE to have these now?

Isn't it funny how time changes things but we

still have a penchant for antiques?

One day when I'm like 90, I'll be in an antique store

and my great grandaughter will say
"Hey, look!" There's one of those OLD

iPod things!

I think I can wait on that.

To Market to Market

Ahhhh. April. I've waited all winter for my

favorite outdoor fleamarket to reopen.

 Where you can shop all morning and still

 haven't actually seen EVERYTHING.

 Where the stands are abundant and so are the antiques

Where you just never know what treasure may be waiting...

 Or where you know lovely old mason jars

can be found

 Where I saw this one day and did not buy her.

Note: If you see it at a fleamarket buy it.

You probably will not be able to come back for it.

Where gorgeous baubles are next to a stand with tools

and industrial finds!

And where we buy our weekly veggies...

And one of my favorite treats...whoopie pies!

To market to market I go!

A Hopping Good Time - Egg Hunt Party in the Woods

It really was! A hopping good time at our second annual egg

hunt party in the woods.

And these kids had me hopping.

 The day did not start out as planned with very cold temps,

overcast sky, and wet grass from rain.

But, I went with plan B.

My pastel banner turned out better than expected.
I think next time I'll use brighter
colored paper and letters.

 Like these really cute glitter egg picks from Dollar Tree... 

Wasn't sure what I was going to do with them and at the last minute

I filled a glass vase with pink grass and used them as a "flower arrangement."

  I made "Bunny Bait" bags.

I opted for jelly beans because it was easier...but I've seen other

great ideas where you actually make mix that you can scatter on the

ground as "bait."

 Buckets filled with goodies, toys and candy.

Inside were "Jesus Promise Seeds" (candy corn)

with a bible verse on each package.

I found these at Dollar General.

Food display which turned out to have a matching

 color theme which I hadn't really planned.

A nice surprise!

I found these CUTE pastel colored marshmallows

 to use as "Bunny Tails" at one of our locally owned grocery stores.

I love how these "My Favorite Peep" treats turned out.

As the whole crew was heading out, luckily one of my Mommy pals started snapping shots for me.

I was running around inside still looking for my camera.

 And when I finally found my camera I had forgotten to change the setting

from close up (how I take my antique pics) to standard.

 So this type of blurry picture is mostly what I ended up with.

 What can I say? We were having too much

fun hunting for eggs.

 Look at all of them!

 Oh yeah!

A really great day despite the rain and chilly

weather.

I had fun getting ready for the party too.

But my favorite part of the day was when one of the little

girls came up to me and said

"Miss Jillian....Are we going to do a craft?"

Sigh...

I almost said "Yes, when there are TWO of me!"

Seriously though. It was a good idea and maybe,

just MAYBE I'll incorporate a craft into next year's

party!
