Decorating a Library with Antique Books: A Collection of Waverly Novels

Everyone has different tastes.
But if you've been blessed with
a great library room
or awesome set of bookshelves,
you're going to need to do
something with them.

This is quite a pop of color.
Truly an artist lives here.

Someone who enjoys the facts
collected these antique encyclopedias.
Or, they just liked how they look all together!

Here's what to do if you enjoy
having doo dads instead of books!

I tend to lean toward
 the lighter
side of things.
Let the books be
the objects of art.

Look at this grand display!

Here is my newest collection
of books, Waverly Novels,
 available in my
Bella Rosa shop, here.

 Beautiful designs, all of the
wonderful classic titles.

A set of 25 for a well
designed, antique library.

Now, if you'll excuse me,
I'm heading into "the study"
to lose myself in a world
of reading.... enjoy the day!

Pinkarella! It's Spring Time Appeal for Pastel Colored LuRay Dinnerware

Spring!
My heart leaps with joy at the
thought of this season.

And my vintage LuRay Pastels collection
makes a great display for Easter.

Just like the colors
of the candy coated eggs!

Back in the day, the company
Taylor Smith and Taylor. debuted
LuRay as a great alternative to the
popular and very brightly
colored FIESTA ware.

Soft pastels like Persian Cream, Sharon Pink,
Surf Green, and Windsor Blue sparkle
like the colors in the LuRay Caverns in Virginia.
Did you know that is how this set got it's name?

Over the years I have collected
quite a few different pieces.

Some I use...

And some I don't!

And some I buy just to
"Go Along"

And why not?
My vintage LuRay

Always makes me smile,
whatever the occasion!

My little sweet pea thinks I am
like "Pinkarella" because
I like pink so much.

Springing Ahead to Summer at the Lake

It is pretty much spring
and I'm already thinking
about summer and the lake house.

Thinking about sitting out
on this cozy deck with
a lemonade, a book
and my camera.

I like to be ready to
take a photo of whatever
is happening.

There is ALWAYS something.

Remember last year when
we turned the kitchen from
dark to light and crisp?

And my hard working hubby

I felt SO guilty about it.

I'm over it now!

Love our nautical look.

I need to finish up in the kid's room.
We are going to attempt bunk beds.

Key word is ATTEMPT.
The attic walls make
it difficult...bunk beds take
up much space.

Of course I will keep
taking pictures and
give updates!

I also look forward to cruising
along the lake...

My favorite time is right after dinner...

And of course going to my favorite
thrift shop in the woods to find little
vintage pieces like these!

It won't be long now!

Spring Has Sprung! New Arrivals: Easter Paperie, Vintage Trim, Silver Ware and Super Cheep Mystery Sale!

Spring is here!
I heard the birdies chirping.
The sunlight is brighter.

Miss Jillian is happier!

So to celebrate I am showing off

Having your own website is
a lot of work. A lot.

But, I get to be a "picker"
a collector, and a matchmaker
all at the same time.

Here is just a sampling of
what I listed last night.

My spring collection, uh, I
mean, new arrivals!

Finished pretty close to midnight.

Of course I have a few favorites this week.
Don't I always?
It is hard not to keep some things.

Like the 25 piece set of antique
Waverly Novels that look so
nice on a bookshelf.

filled with 26 antique postcards!

Or the artist made tatted crown,
handpainted glass sign, or the trio
of shabby pink rose plates.

I could go on, but I'll
just let you look
them over yourself.

But wait! There's also
the Mystery Sale!
I cut prices down to the
bare minimum last night!

This sweetie little robin's
egg nest is cheep, cheep, cheep!

And a vintage style eiffel tower
ornament!!!!
CHEEP!
Cheep, I tell ya!

Okay so that was a play on words
so I could show you this antique,
artist signed, Easter chick postcard
by the famous John Winsch.

I know, you're just cracking up, eh?

Have a great day &
Happy Almost Spring!
