Favorite and Unexpected Pinks

A few of my favorite pinks to share with you this week.. from my new favorite
place to "hang out" online ....Pinterest!

A simple pink dresser makes a powerful statement in a room.

Or walls

But if I lived on a farm I'd love to have a PINK barn. I'm sure I would have to live on the farm alone, however!

With a pink antique truck to match. I have no idea who the woman is behind the wheel, but she has been pinned!

But the best kinds of pinks right now are the kind I am seeing everywhere! Welcome spring!

And for an April Fool's joke...

Knock knock.

Who's there?

Duane.

Duane who?

DuWAIN the tub! I'm duwrowning!

An oldie but goodie...Enjoy your weekend! I'll be back early in the week with pictures from our Egg Hunt Party. Almost ready!

Linking with Pink Saturday of course...don't miss all of the other bloggers posts!

Y R U Knot Crafty? Mission Possible Party

This is the question I ask myself.
I mean really.
Y R U not crafty?
You are creative.
Who me?
Yes.

So why when I went to my computer to find something to do for the
Mission Possible link up party...did I draw a blank?

Crafter's block?

Maybe.

I decided to work on some projects for Bebe's upcoming Egg
Hunt party. This photo is from Pinterest where I got the idea.

Our craft tutorial for the link up party
asked that it be in about 20 minutes.
A cinch!
Easy peasy and I'll be almost
ready in time for this weekend.

Right?

Sigh... I'm warning you.
I'm just not crafty.

This is why I sell antiques.

But, I decided to go for it.

First up, a banner for the table.
(I decided to try two different crafts in case one didn't turn out well!)
See? CRAFT FEAR.
Tee hee!
You're laughing!

I got out my supplies...

I forgot I had all of these pretty pastel scrapbook papers.

And more!

I even have measuring tools!
Thanks to my lovely Sister, she is a Creative Memories consultant.
Then Dear Bebe wanted to help.
Great! But there went my 20 minutes.
But that's okay.
It's the IDEA.

I decided to use a background for my letters using my oval cutouts.
Oval, like an egg, get it?
I'm so crafty!

Then I had an array of paper triangles and oval eggs.
What to do with them next?

I started arranging...
To spell the words: HAPPY EASTER

And I laid them out...
And then wondered where I was going to get the letters...
THE GRAPICS FAIRY!
So I went to the website.
And looked. And looked.
I didn't see how or where to print out individual letters.
I've never really used the Graphics Fairy website
before. So I decided to print out my own letters using
Word on my computer.
I did.
The letters were too big for my ovals.
I caved and moved onto the next craft.
See?
This is not good.
But at least the banner is halfway done.

You're laughing!
That's okay. I would too!

Allrighty then.
Next project.
The EGG TREE.
We live in the woods. EASIER AND PEASIER!

I snipped branches from small trees of the same color.
Oh yeah!
I gathered my plastic eggs in different shapes and sizes.

I grabbed my trusty sewing box.
I've had this thing since high school.
Seriously.
Remember how mauvy pink was big in the late 80's?
This surely must mean I've been crafty
for a LONG TIME.

 Some colored buttons.
What could these be for?
Some of my eggs had only one hole at the top.
I used them as "stoppers" to keep the thread from coming out.
Aha!
Clever and crafty.
I knew I had it in me.

Vinage thread.
VINTAGE.
Of course!

Then I set out to do the task.
Threading each egg with
matching thread.
Matching!
That's kind of crafty, isn't it?

 And I hung the eggs.
One by one.

And hanging...
Until

Voila!
Finally, something is finished.
Sort of.
I just want to create a
decoration for the green
container before Saturday.

And there you have it.
A craft.
Or two.

I can't wait to see all of the other
WONDERFUL crafters and what they came up with.

Check them out.

Mission accomplished!

It has been a busy week here at the Bella Rosa shop...

Here are my latest finds from my my trip I mentioned in my last post...
as well as a quick stop to my "Secret Shop" around the corner.
Enjoy!

Loved this ornate gold tone frame...with the photo still inside.

A pretty violets moustache cup... hard to believe pretty and moustache are
used in the same sentence here, but they are!
I've listed two different sets of silver (plate)
iced tea spoons in different patterns.
I'm thinking porch party!

Gorgeous rose cake plate.
Mmmm. Cake.
I really shouldn't list new things when I'm hungry!

Love these paint by numbers...especially
the fact they are of ballerinas.

So pretty.

Really clean copy of a Tales of

Each week I have a favorite piece.
It is this lithograph  print.
And yes, that is a reflection of my hand in the lower
left corner. Very tough to photograph glass and mirrors.

China rose bowls. Great for soup. Great for ice cream.
One for you ...and a friend!

There's a few more vintage pieces you've got to see
so hop on over to my just listed items.

And if you're attracted to all things silver,
I've created a new category, here.

Have a great weekend!

A Shopping We Will Go...And A Look at "The Pickers" Mania

It is always a good weekend when I get to go antique hunting.
Craft stores are also high on my list.

This past weekend I got to do both!

Linking up with Miss Kathy of The Writer's Reverie made it even better! She told me about a special shop she likes to go to near her hometown. Of course I had a great time hunting down my favorites for the shop. But before I share my latest finds...I have some things I want to share about craft stores.
A couple of weeks ago I went to a warehouse in my area, just for flowers, crafts, and home decor.
It was AMAZING!
Row after row of florals.

I wasn't sure what I could do with this many faux flowers.

There was a section for scrapbookers, for jewelry making, f
or ribbons and fabrics.

It seemed endless!

What I did not find were apothecary jars. I found all kinds of other glassware like these green cuties.
 I was a bit disappointed.

BUT then, on my way in to meet up with Miss Kathy, she suggested we stop at the new HOBBY LOBBY in town first, before heading on to the second hand shop.

My ears perked up! "A HOBBY LOBBY?????"

This took me back a few years ago when I lived out in America's heartland, working for a CBS affiliate.

There was a Hobby Lobby that I loved going to. So surely I just HAD to stop in for old time's sake.

Miss Kathy was the one who pointed out that some of the things we found inside were reminiscent of none other than:

The Pickers!
Look at these reproduction "picker" pieces!

I was amazed...I could see why not everyone could get a
hold of a gas station  sign ...But a bicycle wheel?

We did a little thrifting, then headed over to Miss Kathy's favorite haunt.

I walked in and saw this display of glassware.
I immediately wanted the cake stand in back.
I have a thing for cake stands.
No room for them, just love them.

Then later on we found these!
An antique set of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Now I know I say I go out looking for all of the best goodies and I love y'all
but  I just couldn't afford the price tag!

The owner of the shop said these were formerly owned by the
VOICE of Snow White.
They were hers!

This child's tea set I think also came from her collection too.
Pretty neat.
I enjoy coming across antiques but when there is a story behind
them it makes so much more interesting.
I think that is why I like antiques
Each piece has a story...and it is up to us to keep it going.

I hope you enjoyed my fun day shopping craft stores and antique shops.
And a big thanks to my tour guide, Miss Kathy.

Next post I'll share what I brought back for Bella Rosa!
